In 2019, SPARC launched an initiative to Paint the Town Positive (PTTP) with local community youth. It was a great success and since then, we have continued to engage youth in the initiative and promoted youth led activities. Through involvement with PTTP, youth have opportunities to build resilience, experience a sense of belonging and community. These are important elements to build healthy, resilient, caring individuals. PTTP helps local kids grow up great!
During the pandemic, we created school-based, mini Paint the Town Positive groups. Thanks to the support of Red Deer schools, we had a successful pilot project and we have continued each year since then.
“Community Values Youth” is one of the 40 Developmental Assets, which youth rate low as one of the assets they possess (across North America). By engaging youth in our community, and having them viewed positively by our community, this creates an atmosphere where youth arevalued and feel valued.
Since 2019, we’ve had the privilege of leading Paint the Town Positive—an initiative empowering young people to give back in meaningful ways. 🌟
What started as a simple idea has blossomed into countless heartwarming actions, and we couldn’t be more proud to support the next generation of positive youth. 💛Here’s to continuing the journey with even more positivity, purpose,
and youth-led impact!
